Often regarded as one of the leading cookery nations in the world, France is known for its supreme culinary skills.
And chefs at what is seen as the globe's capital of cuisine - Paris - have been making life a little easier by serving frozen food, according to a recent documentary on French channel Canal +.
The television programme found that frozen meals are being favoured by restaurants in France, with meals being produced in factories before being easily reheated in the microwave.
Frozen vegetables proved to be a particularly popular choice for many chefs in the French capital city, perhaps for their convenience and nutritional values that can often be superior to those of fresh produce.
Olivier Journiat, one of the journalists involved in the making of the documentary, said: "Today in France thousands of restaurants serve frozen food to their clients."
The Journal Gazette recently advised that frozen ready meals can be a convenient and nutritious choice for people at home who have little time or are unable to cook a meal from scratch.
