Help: About ordering a meal

Video transcript

Hello, and welcome to the screencast on how to place an order on the Wiltshire Farm Foods website. This screen cast will take you all the way through from adding your first item to your basket, to creating an account, setting your delivery address and your payment method, to finally placing your order.

So firstly, we’ll add some items to our basket. To do this, you can either click the meals, desserts, or gourmet option at the top, but you can also click one of the options down the side, so I’ll click beef.

Scrolling down, al I need to do is press Add to Basket next to the first product I want to buy. Now, the website is flashing the postcode box. We need to enter our postcode to check for the availability of the product at our local outlet. In this example, I’m ordering for myself, so I’ll enter my postcode – but if you’re ordering on behalf of someone, then remember to enter their postcode and press Find Your Local Outlet.

So I’ve done that and my local outlet is Trowbridge. As you can see, the website has now added that product to my basket, so I’ll just go through and add a couple more to demonstrate.

And now I’m ready, I’ll go to checkout.

OK, so It’s now asking me have I ordered from the website before, so I’ll click no.

It’s now taking me through the registration process. So I’ll enter my Title, first name and surname, and my email address.

Now, the website offers you a choice of saving your details or not – in this screencast we’ll opt to have our details saved. By doing this, the website will store the information I give it, so that when I come to place my next order, I don’t have to type it all in again. So I’ll press save my details for future purchases.

It’s now asking my to create a password. So I’ll do that, now your password should contain at least 6 letters. It’s also good practise that it contains numbers, as well as other special characters such as the pound sign or exclamation mark. Anyway, I’ve entered my password, and I’ve entered it again to confirm.

Next, it’s asking me if I want to subscribe to the newsletter. The newsletter is fortnightly, and we put a lot of effort into it, so it’s well worth a read, of course you can unsubscribe at any time so I’ll make sure that’s clicked. Then press Save and Proceed to step 3

It’s now asking for my delivery address, so I’ll enter that then press proceed to step 4

Step 4 is the payment methods page – now with Wiltshire farm foods you can either pay by debit or credit card, or by cash on delivery. In this example we’ll pay by debit card, but if you wanted to pay by cash, just hit “select Cash Payment an continue”

But for this demonstration, I’ll press New Credit/Debit card

So it’s taken me to the section to add a new card, so I’ll fill in the details.

The CV2 number is the last 3 digits of number on the back of the card.

Now it’s asking about the Billing Address. This is the address of the person that owns the card, often the address that the statements go to. In this case, I’m the cardholder, but if I was ordering for someone else, I would have to change this. I change it by unticking this box, then entering the cardholder address.

I then press Save these Details and continue

I’m now at step 5, review and place your order.

So, scrolling down, I can see the items, I’ve added to my basket, the delivery address and payment method.

There’s some other fields in the form – firstly special instructions, these are anything you’d like the delivery driver to know, such as to wait after ringing the doorbell if I’m slow to the door, a keysafe number if I have one, or anything else that will help us deliver.

Next, is the section for customer number. If you’ve ordered from Wiltshire farm foods before, you might know you’re customer number. Don’t worry if you don’t, it’s just to help the staff at the outlet to process your order.

Finally, if you have a promotional code to use on the site, such as if you received a recommendation email from a friend, you can enter it in this box, and press redeem.

Finally, when it’s all done, press Place Your Order.

I’ve now pressed that, and the website is checking with the bank that everything is ok – this won’t happen if you chose to pay by cash. You might also be asked for your Maestro SecureCode if you’re using a maestro card.

There we go, our order is completed – you will then receive an order receipt email from us, and once your order has been processed, you’ll get an order confirmation email.

And that’s it, thank you for watching the guide on how to place an order on the Wiltshire farm foods website.
