Healthy eating is so important for us all so we make sure each meal is balanced, nutritious and full of flavour. We carefully control salt, sugar and fat levels and many of our meals are suitable for special diets. Look for the colour-coded symbols indicating diabetic, lower fat, reducing, moderate salt, gluten free and vegetarian options.
A range of soft and puréed meals are also available on request and we can provide details of meals ‘free from’ nuts, dairy, onions etc – just ask your friendly local outlet..
Meals are labelled with a description of ingredients, detailed nutritional information and cooking guidelines. The diet guide below is given as an indication only and may be subject to variation – we advise you to always refer to the meal label for definitive information.
Diabetic diets
All these meals are suitable for people with diabetes, when eaten as part of a healthy, balanced diet. We only use a small amount of added sugar in diabetic desserts (around one teaspoon or less per 100g – up to 8g in a portion), which is consistent with expert guidelines for a low sugar diet, including those from Diabetes UK.
Low Fat Diets
Meals and desserts marked with this symbol contain less than 3g of fat per 100g
Low Salt Diet
Meals and desserts marked with this symbol contain less than 0.3g of salt per 100g.
Gluten Free
Some customers need to avoid the gluten found in wheat, rye, barley and oats, or the flours made from these cereals. Meals and desserts with this symbol meet the strict Codex Standard for Gluten Free.
Vegetarian
These meals and desserts are free from meat/meat derivatives and fish/fish derivatives. They may contain dairy products such as milk, cheese or eggs.
