On December 20th 2007 The Queen became Great Britain’s oldest monarch, beating the milestone set by her great-great grandmother Queen Victoria. The Queen still has some way yet to go until she becomes the longest reigning monarch, as Victoria ruled for nearly 64 years, a record Elizabeth will break in September 2015.
And the secret to her robust health? A low-fat diet and plenty of exercise apparently, with the Queen favouring low-fat cereal to start the day rather than a full English. With an aversion to smoking following the death of her father from lung cancer aged 56, the Queen extols the virtues of healthy living and exercise, still finding time to indulge her passions for riding and walking.
Concerned you’ve over-indulged over the festive period with rich, fatty foods and sweet treats? It’s a common Christmas side-effect, but not to worry, help is at hand with Wiltshire Farm Foods.
We have a selection of delicious low-fat meals that are perfect if you feel the need to cut back a bit. A low-fat diet can help you lose weight; lower cholesterol and can help to keep your heart healthy. Best of all there’s no need to feel like you’re depriving yourself!
Choose from hearty traditional favourites such as Roast Lamb in Mint Gravy, or delicious gourmet goodies such as Venison in Mushroom and Ale Sauce, or for more exotic tucker why not try our enticingly aromatic Honey and Ginger Pork?
Even sweets aren’t struck from the menu, with a range including delicious Rice Pudding with Apple or a Apricot & Peach Dessert, satisfying your sweet cravings without widening that waistband.
As Queen Elizabeth reflected at the Commonwealth Games: “There are few feelings more satisfying than waking up to a new day with a sense of wellbeing. Good health is a precious gift.”
So start as you mean to go on this January – and have a happy and healthy 2008 from all at Wiltshire Farm Foods!

Spring is on its way and as the days brighten so does the menu at Wiltshire Farm Foods. Our Product Development Team have been busy working alongside Head Chef Phil Rimmer to bring you an even more extensive menu with flavours from around the globe, and closer to home – Phil loves to use fresh ingredients from his own allotment in his recipes!
Creamy Chicken & Asparagus is a delicious new addition to the menu – tender asparagus, white wine and cream work wonderfully together, served with brown rice, peppers, beans, sweetcorn, carrots and peas.
